Designing the SenoReality Logo

Almost 10 years ago, I co-founded SenoReality Pictures, LLC. with Patrick Rea. Since then, we've produced over 50+ short films and 2 feature length films. Although the early days were always the best memories, none of us knew what we were doing. Who could blame us, we were in our early 20s. The learning curve began in 2002 when we produced our first short film, "The Evil Awakens."

When I met Patrick, I had already had a "company" name for my personal film projects; Seno Digital Pictures (Seno being Jones spelled backwards without the 'J'). This was my alias in community college between 1998 and 2000.

Seno Digital Pictures (1999)

When Patrick and I decided to join forces and make our own stuff aside from KU, we combined our names (Rea and Jones) thus forming SenoReality Pictures. We both knew we needed a logo to start out, so I designed our first logo animation.

SenoReality Original (2002)

Don't ask what I was thinking with the sound logo. Undecided

We kept this logo for many years, producing tons of shorts in between. It wasn't until mid 2004 that we decided to make a logo symbol. I wanted something that had an 'S' and and 'R' without looking like two letters stuck together.

My second rendering

SenoReality Grey (2004)

The second rendering we used for almost 3 years until we finished our first feature film, The Empty Acre. I didn't feel like this logo was very cinematic, so I created a new SenoReality logo specifically for Acre. For some reason, I was obsessed with glass and water.

SenoReality Glass (2005)

After that, we never used a logo introduction before our shorts. It wasn't until December of 2011 that we decided we needed a new cinematic logo for our upcoming feature film, Nailbiter.

SenoReality Glass Blue (2012)

It's hard to believe we've been doing this for almost 10 years. I wonder what the next animation will look like?
