As of today, the final color correction and audio mix have been mastered. For more information about the film project, please visit the Do Not Disturb page. Do Not Disturb is a co-production between Vedros Motion and SenoReality Pictures, LLC.
Nothing amuses me more than working many hours on a project (whether it be After Effects, Final Cut or 3D Studio Max) and realizing–as I’m stretching–my project window says “Untitled.” Then my body has a slight adrenaline rush, much like the feeling of passing a cop while speeding.
Quickly I press apple+s but I’m not out of the hole yet. I still have to name the project. Crap. What do I call it? That’s too much to think about. I could use another cup of coffee.
Once I give it a name, I know my work is secure. However, I had one incident fail. As I saved and gave my project a name, After Effects was nice enough to show me my desktop quicker than I can press apple+h. Ah, look at the nice, green picture that I call my wallpaper. Calmly, as I notice the blue dot disappear from the dock, I stand up and walk away.
After Effects is a fantastic program, but when it crashes … it crashes HARD!
After many hours spent working on a project, the last thing I need is for the video card to fail. I can see Untitled, but the mouse pointer is raping the top menu and SAVE is invisible. It’s almost like a prank put on by the program.
“Haha, you can’t save,” laughs After Effects.
An even bigger pain is capturing video in Final Cut when the project still says “Untitled Project.” After I log and capture the many hours of video, I then save my project.
Excellent. No crashes, no worries about loosing my captured footage and time code. But wait, why is my project folder empty? Where the hell is my captured footage? Oh, its saved under Untitled-9. Now I get the privilege of moving my footage to the project folder. Media offline, media offline–yes thank you bright red message.
That’s okay, at least I remembered to name my clips so I don’t have 400 clips in multiple folders called “untitled-1.fcp”
But, there a lot of times I’m working on a project with no inclination to save it. It’s usually just a doddle-project. However, there have been multiple doodle-projects that turned out real nice. And I’m amazed that it’s still on screen, as I come in the next day realizing it still says, “untitled.”
It’s Thursday and I’m sitting at my desk. I just tweaked the blogging portion of the website and realized once up-and-running, I forgot to add the “add post” button. Only a minor detail. I feel the need for coffee. But, as long as Big-R Radio 80s FM is blasting, nothing else matters!
So, I’ve noticed that writting all of this code to enable “Blogs” and other plugings eats up a lot of time and now its time for Zzz’z. (more…)
